Motti Lerer

Motti has been working in the jewelry design and production field for 24 years. He had been working with a wide range of materials from gold and diamond, to bronze, wood and clay. Motti studied engineering at Ort College and art and jewelry design at Bezalel Art Academy of Jerusalem. In 1996 he had started to work with ceramic, making functional objects. Gradually he started to create sculptures from clay. To achieve a larger work he translates his new sculptures from clay to colorful plastics. Motti uses human body parts as metaphors for his experience living in NYC. His sculptures are also an expression of his sensitivity, as an immigrant, to the social and political situation in the USA.
