Sculptors and ceramic artists who publish their own portfolios here: bronze casters, stone carvers, welders, mould makers, and potters working on the wheel. Each profile is built by the artist, so it holds the work they want judged, in the order they chose, with the materials and processes named in their own words.

A sculptor's practice is usually split between two places: where the thing is made and where it is finished. Foundry work, kiln firings and fabrication happen on somebody else's schedule, so profiles often cover several years rather than one season. Editions, commissions for a specific site, and one-off pieces sit side by side.

Questions about a piece or an edition go straight to the sculptor: the email, phone and studio website on a profile are the ones they chose to publish. None of that is behind a login, and neither are the works or the exhibition history. An account does one useful thing here, which is to hold the pieces you are weighing up for a particular site, in public, on your own page.

Scale and weight are the facts a photograph hides, which is why the useful profiles state dimensions and material plainly and show a piece from more than one side. Ceramic artists tend to list clay body, firing temperature and glaze; a fabricator will name the gauge of steel. Read those lines before you write to anyone about a commission.
