Individual artworks, each one posted by the person who made it. Paintings and prints, photographs, sculpture, illustration, film, music and craft, all in one grid and all opening at full size with the artist's own description attached. Contemporary art as it is being made, rather than a selection someone assembled after the fact.

A work here can be a single object or a whole run of them: an oil on linen, a series of darkroom prints, a welded steel piece photographed from four sides. It can also be time-based. A short film sits in the grid as an embedded video, a track as embedded audio, and a chapter of a novel as text you read on the page.

You can browse the whole grid without an account, filter it down to one discipline, and open any piece to read what the artist wrote about it. Signed in, you can favourite works, which puts them on your own profile where anyone can see them, and follow the artists behind them. Every work links back to the profile it came from.

Most artists photograph their own work, which is why the grid is uneven in a way a printed catalogue never is: studio wall, phone camera, proper lighting, all next to each other. Whatever a piece tells you about itself, the title and the description under it, is what the artist typed in. The one date attached is the day it went up, not the day it was finished.
