Actors, directors, playwrights, dramaturgs and the designers who build the look of a show. Every profile here is written by the theatre-maker themselves, and it holds the things a run leaves behind: a credit list, production stills, a reel, and a way to write to them.

A theatre credit is a compressed thing: title, role, company, director, year. The profiles unpack it. Actors add self-tapes and monologues alongside production photographs taken at the dress rehearsal. Directors post concept notes and rehearsal footage. Designers upload set models, ground plans, costume drawings and lighting states, which is the only form most design work survives in.

Credits, production stills and the reel are readable without an account, and so is the contact tab. The email, phone or website there belongs to the artist; British Artists takes no part in what follows. Signing in adds a chronological feed and lets you follow the people whose next production you want to hear about.

Theatre work ages out of sight. Programmes go out of print, reviews drop behind paywalls, and a company website is rebuilt every few years with the old seasons deleted. A profile that the artist keeps themselves is often the only continuous record of a working life, which is why the useful ones list the small tours and the readings, not only the openings.
