Concerts, Live Music Gigs and DJ Sets
Music · Events
Dates rather than recordings: gigs, recitals, DJ sets, listening nights, album launches and the odd rehearsal opened to an audience. The musicians and venues enter their own listings, so the date, the doors and the line-up read the way the people running the night wrote them.
A live music listing is a short-lived thing, and most of them never reach a national ticketing site. A trio playing a back room on a Tuesday, a composer premiering forty minutes of new work once, a DJ set that runs until the licence says stop. Those are the nights that go missing when only the big rooms get listed.
Every listing is readable without an account, and each one carries the date, the start time and whatever the organiser gave for address and admission. Doors and stage time are rarely the same, and which of the two a listing means is worth reading twice. Where there is a ticket link it points out to the organiser's own page, because none of that happens here.
Music dates cluster in ways other art forms do not. Touring schedules bunch around weekends, classical seasons run autumn to spring, and club nights only firm up a week or two out, which is why a page like this changes faster than a gallery calendar. Anyone with a date to add posts it themselves, and listing it costs nothing.
